Powerpoint Pong: Plong
A downloadable game
ITS PONG PLONG!
but then in powerpoint. One of the first computer games ever released (November 29, 1972) now reimagined in the slide show software the we all know and love. Play against friends and foes until you're bored or play with yourself (two hands required).
Use the W and S keys for the paddle on the left and the arrow keys for the Paddle on the right.
Customizability
Without code
Everything visual you can change just like a normal slide show. But beware that the names of the shapes on the slide stay the same, otherwise it might crash. I also advice against decreasing the width of the paddles since that might cause issues with collision (its still powerpoint).
besides that you can also edit the sound effects that play. There are three shapes on the left of the slide. Click on one of them go to insert > action on the bottom of the menu there is the sound. Change the sound file and you're done.
Gameplaywise there is only two things you can change: the speed of the paddles and how much speed the ball gains when it hits a paddle. There are two textboxs at the top of the slide where you can change these two values. Make sure there are only numbers in the textbox!
With code (VBA)
I made it completely open source so you can basically change anything you like! Most notably you can change keybinds, fps and maxspeed. Note that the physics are tied to fps.
Controller support
There is no native controller support since it si powerpoint. However there are enough ways to convert controller inputs to keyboard outputs. I have tested 'keysticks' twice once on my pc and once on my laptop and it only worked on my pc so if you really want it I suggest doing your own research since I can't guarantee anything.
